Professional Experience

Michael Jordan, Esq.

When in the private practice of law, Michael represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of matters with an emphasis on contract disputes and business torts in commercial and health care cases. As lead counsel, specific practice areas included:

--Physician/hospital peer review claims

--Payor/Provider disputes

--Severance situations, particularly those involving highly compensated executives or physicians

--Non-competition agreements

--Unfair competition matters

--Commercial disputes, including claims involving the Uniform Commercial Code

--Tort claims, including fraud, defamation, and fraudulent inducement

--Disputes involving closely held corporations, including dissolution actions and minority shareholder claims

--a variety of employee benefit cases, including claims of breach of fiduciary duty

Michael has lectured on issues ranging from contract and tort claims between physicians and hospitals, reimbursement disputes between providers and payors, the enforceability of covenants not to compete, and arbitrator training updates. The Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association named him chair of the Dispute Resolution Program Planning Committee. The Committee develops programs for arbitration and mediation in-person training and education.
